FAQ's
What do I need to bring?
-
Please bring your dog's leash, and make sure he/she is wearing some sort of I.D. tag.
-
You are required to provide your dog's food if you are boarding your dog, enough for his or her entire stay. If you are sending your dog to daycare, you may choose to send a lunchtime snack for your dog.
-
You don't have to worry about bringing a bowl or food dish. We have plenty of these!
-
While we do have bedding in all our private suites, you may bring bedding for your dog, but please ensure that these do not present a choking hazard. Keep in mind, that dogs may behave differently than they do at home, so they may chew on things they wouldn't ordinarily.
-
While toys are allowed, they remain in the dog's private suite, so please make sure they do not present a choking hazard.

What do I do for my dog's first day?
-
When bringing your dog for the first time we ask that you remain on the property for approximately 10 minutes so we can assess your dog. If you are boarding your dog, we recommend you bring your dog for a visit prior to your scheduled boarding date to ensure that The Farmer's Doghouse is right for your dog.
-
When bringing your dog in, please make sure he or she is leashed before taking him or her out of the car. This is to ensure everyone's comfort and safety and to make the process of bringing dogs to or from The Farmer's Doghouse as smooth and easy as possible.
-
When dropping off your dog for the first time, be sure to have ready:
-
Your filled out Enrollment Package
-
A copy of your dog's vaccination records
-
Proof of your dog's parasite prevention
-
(Remember: if you like, you can send these records to us via email so that we have them all ready before your dog's first day. If you do choose to do this, we will always send a confirmation email to you. Please let us know if you do not receive this confirmation email!)
What are your hours?
Currently, our daycare hours are 8am to 5:00 pm on weekdays.
Regular check-in time for boarding dogs is 8-11am on weekdays.
Regular checkout time for boarding dogs is 4:30-6pm on weekdays.

Feel free to contact us if you want to inquire about flexible daycare hours or arrange a different check-in/checkout time!
How do I pay?
At the moment, we accept cash, cheque, or e-transfer. We have wi-fi set up in the shop to process e-transfers.
I can't make regular check-in/out times for boarding! Can I schedule a late or early time?
Absolutely! We are happy to arrange different check-in or checkout times to suit your needs, including weekends.
Please note, however, that extremely late night or extremely early morning check-ins or checkouts may come with a $10 fee.
My dog needs medicine. Can you administer it?
Yes. If your dog needs medication or some other form of supplement, please let us know ahead of time what the medicine is, how to store it, and how to administer it. You are responsible for supplying any medicines your dog may require.
What kind of dogs do you take in? Can you accommodate my dog?
We are able to take in a variety of ages, breeds, and sizes of dogs. As long as your dog is spayed/neutered and is able to thrive in a group environment, then he or she will likely fit in well at The Farmer's Doghouse!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about your dog, or if your dog has some special needs that require extra attention, then please contact us by phone or email and we'll see what we can do!
I'm worried about my dog. Can I call to make sure he/she is okay?
Of course! It's natural to be worried about your furry family member, especially if you haven't tried boarding or daycare before. Please feel free to call up, send a facebook message, or email us for a quick update on how his or her day is going.
